Oura Ring 5: Everything You Need to Know About the Thinnest Smart Ring
Oura's thinnest ring yet promises more accurate health readings and a week of battery. Here's what to know before you buy.
The Oura Ring 5 is the Finnish company's newest smart ring, unveiled on 28 May 2026 and on sale from 4 June. It is the thinnest and smallest ring Oura has made — the company says it is 40 % smaller than the Oura Ring 4.
Design and build
The ring is narrower (about 6mm) and thinner (under 3mm), weighing roughly 2 grams. The body is made of non-allergenic titanium and is water resistant to 100m, so it handles swimming and showering. It comes in eight sizes (US 6–13) and six colours: Silver, Black, Gold, Stealth, Brushed Silver and Deep Rose.
What it measures
Like earlier models, the Ring 5 tracks sleep stages, heart rate variability (HRV), blood oxygen, body temperature and menstrual cycles. The new sensors use stronger LEDs and 12 signal pathways, which Oura says improves accuracy regardless of finger shape or skin tone.
New features
For the first time the ring can track workouts in real time. It also adds Health Radar — continuous monitoring that includes blood pressure signals and nighttime breathing analysis — plus GLP-1 insights for metabolic health. Note that some features (such as blood pressure readings and health records) currently work only in the US and a few other countries, so Baltic buyers will not get them right away.
Battery
A single charge lasts about a week — one day longer than the Ring 4. An optional charging case (around €109) extends that to a month.
Price and subscription
Base colours cost around €429 and premium finishes around €529. Keep in mind that every feature requires an Oura Membership subscription — roughly €6 a month or €70 a year. It is the subscription that often makes rivals like the RingConn Gen 2 and Ultrahuman Ring Air look more appealing, since they work with no monthly fee.
Who it's for
